How to Prepare for a Mobile Auto Glass Appointment

A few practical steps give the technician a safe work area and help the appointment stay focused on the vehicle.

Choose the work location

  • Use a reasonably level surface with room around the affected glass.
  • Avoid active traffic lanes, tight garages, and sprinkler zones.
  • Have a covered option available if practical.
  • Make sure the vehicle will not be blocked in during cure time.

Prepare the vehicle

For broken door or back glass, avoid handling fragments with bare hands. Keep children and pets away from the vehicle until cleanup is complete.

  • Remove valuables and personal items from the dash, seats, doors, and cargo area near the glass.
  • Unlock the vehicle and have the key available.
  • Move toll tags, cameras, or removable accessories if instructed.
  • Tell us about existing body damage, water leaks, or prior glass work.

Plan for the handoff

An adult needs to be available to provide access and receive the safe drive-away and care instructions. If ADAS recalibration is required, allow for the applicable procedure after the windshield is installed.
