Will my insurance cover a windshield replacement or chip repair?+
If you carry comprehensive coverage, most rock chip repairs are covered 100% with no deductible. Windshield replacements are typically covered subject to your comprehensive deductible. We bill your insurance company directly — you don't pay us and wait for reimbursement.
Do I need to bring the vehicle to a shop?+
No. Carolina Auto Glass is fully mobile — we come to your home, office, driveway, or jobsite anywhere in the coastal tri-county area at no extra charge.
How long does a windshield replacement take?+
The install itself takes about 60–90 minutes. Safe drive-away time depends on the urethane and weather but is typically about one hour after installation. We'll give you an exact time on-site.
What is ADAS recalibration and do I need it?+
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) includes lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, and automatic emergency braking — features that rely on a forward-facing camera mounted to the windshield. Any time the windshield is replaced on an ADAS-equipped vehicle, the camera must be recalibrated so those safety systems function correctly.
Can a rock chip be repaired or does it need replacement?+
Most chips smaller than a quarter and cracks shorter than a few inches can be repaired if they're outside the driver's direct line of sight and haven't gathered moisture or dirt. Larger damage, edge cracks, or damage in the driver's sight line usually requires replacement. Send us a photo and we'll tell you which.
How much does a windshield replacement cost?+
Cash prices vary by vehicle, glass type (OEM vs OEE), and whether ADAS recalibration is required. Most passenger vehicles fall in a predictable range. Text a photo of your VIN or year/make/model to 843-922-9574 for a firm quote.
Do you offer fleet or business accounts?+

What warranty comes with the work?+
Every install carries a lifetime workmanship warranty — if it ever leaks, whistles, or has a workmanship defect, we make it right at no cost for as long as you own the vehicle.
Do you use OEM glass?+
We offer both OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and high-quality OEE (original equipment equivalent) glass. OEM is available on request; OEE meets or exceeds DOT standards and is what most insurance policies cover by default.
